Hello, I'm Ginny. Welcome to my blog. I'm extremely disorganized and lazy, though I am finally getting into the habit of tagging posts.

Mostly just reblogging and whining text posts about my life. If I have art I'll post that too, but it'll be once in a blue moon.

I'm an exchange student in Austria right now, but you can read more about that over at my exchange blog.

I don't really know what else to put here! Except that I really, really want to be your friend, so please don't be shy. :)

1800 Ms Mix A Lot: "What if it was your wife or daughter?" →

thecurvature:

I hate this sentence so much that whenever I hear it I want to pick up and smash everything in sight.

If the only way that you can even remotely grasp the idea that women are people, or the only way that you can even remotely comprehend getting another man to grasp the idea…

But to me this is just the same as saying “what if it was someone you loved?” because people typically do see their family as, well, people instead of objectifying them, as they may be doing with someone they don’t know. I mean, I know if someone ever hurt me, my dad would be really fucking angry- not because he thinks ‘my property value’ is being ‘defiled’ or whatever- (and I’m actually a little offended that anyone could think that’s what he would be worried about) but because I’m his daughter and he loves me? If my brother was hurt he would react the exact same way. I’m just saying, I don’t think that phrase is meant to appeal to a mans sense of ownership or whatever.
